EO Technology Strategy Consultation Workshop

The Centre for Earth Observation (CEOI) will host a Consultation Workshop on the EO Technology Strategy next month.

The UKSA and CEOI have agreed that the current UKSA EO Technology Strategy needs to be updated, in light of rapid technological, economic and geopolitical changes.

Following two consultation meetings with end users, the CEOI is happy to invite the community to an in-person consultation workshop on Tuesday, November 11, at Friends House, London, NW1 2BJ (opposite Euston Station).

The objective of this revised strategy is to inform UKSA and HM Government on what ought to be the EO technology development priorities over the coming  six to 10 years, towards instruments that will acquire EO data in the short-, medium- and long-term.

A first working draft will be circulated before the consultation for the attendees’ perusal.

The aim of the workshop is to identify the critical elements of the strategy, in particular a shared vision and objectives. The CEOI wants to ensure we are not missing key aspects related to Earth Observation in the 2030s, 2040s, and beyond.

As the number of places is inevitably limited, prospective attendees are asked to confirm that they have the authorisation to represent the company/institution they are employed by.

Prospective attendees are also asked to make a statement about why they should attend.

To achieve collective representation, the CEOI may have to limit the number of participants from any one company/institution.

The new strategy will be released in January.
