Thermal Remote Sensing Training and Networking Event

Please Save the Date!

We are hosting a Thermal Remote Sensing Workshop 2nd – 4th December in Space Park Leicester, UK. This event is primarily an educational and networking opportunity, with invitations extended to scientists, researchers, public institutions, and private companies interested in learning more about thermal remote sensing and making new connections within the community. The workshop aims and content are based on your responses to the questionnaire we issued last year. You can find more information on the SIG website .

This event is free to attend for all participants (but travelling, accommodation, and breakfast and dinner costs are not included). We will only ask that you provide information on how your current or future work will benefit from attending the workshop. However, we are also looking for commercial sponsorship for the workshop. If you represent a private company and would like to present and/or have a stand at the workshop to advertise your business in our community, and are open to sponsoring our event, please contact us.

This Thermal Remote Sensing Workshop is funded by the Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation ( and is being organised in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) Land Surface Temperature Climate Change Initiative (LST_cci). The LST_cci 2024 User Workshop will be held on 5th and 6th December 2024 immediately after the Thermal Remote Sensing Workshop, in the same venue. There will be a cross-over session between the two workshops on Wednesday 4th December focusing on applications of thermal remote sensing, including LST. The LST_cci User Workshop is also a free event.

The LST_cci project aims to provide an accurate view of temperatures across land surfaces globally over the past 20 to 25 years and meet the requirements of Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) for climate applications. Detailed information about the LST_cci project and the data produced by the project can be found at .
